Prosser, Chelan and Montana

Sept 6-8, 2018
We drove to Prosser  for our traditional September visit. We arrived at about 2 and got set up before heading out for some wine tasting. My sister Terry arrived at about 4 staying at a nearby motel. After getting settled we went to Jeremy's Roadhouse for dinner and back to the RV park for a nice evening . The weather is supposed to be nice for  our three night stay.
On Thursday we did some wine tasting and had a nice lunch. Friday we did more of the same and cooked a great hamburger dinner. Later in the evening we were sitting out and saw some lightning to the east. Soon the storm had moved right over us. The lightning was pretty spectacular and it rained pretty hard for a short time

Sept 9-11, 2018
Today we drove to Chelan for a three night stay. When we got to Chelan we went to the Apple Cafe for lunch and watched part of the Seahawks preseason game. After setting up at the RV park we went to a couple wine tasting rooms. Back at the park the sun was out but the wind was blowing at 10-15 mph. In the evening we set up our fireplace between the truck and trailer to get out of most of the wind
Monday after breakfast we walked into town to do some light shopping. Then we visited a few wineries after lunch. In the evening we went to Lake Chelan Winery for dinner . We had a coupon for 2 for 1 BBQ rib meat sandwiches with slaw and beans. We had this on our visit in May and really enjoyed it as we did this trip. Back at the park it was still windy so we set up our windbreaks and enjoyed the evening.
Tuesday afternoon we visited more tasting rooms and prepared for our drive to St Regis in the morning.

Sept 12, 2018
We drove to St Regis, MT today not using interstate highways until we got to Spokane. Then it was I-90 to St Regis, a total of 278 miles. After getting set up we drove to the 50,000 Silver Dollar store. We had dinner and Gail did some shopping. The park has a lot of carved bears and other animals.

Sept 13-16 , 2018
We headed out this morning to Anaconda, MT. We stayed at Fairmont RV Park where we have stayed in the past. The weather here was to be sunny with some clouds and temperature in the low 60's. At night it was to be in the low 30's. After we got set up we went to lunch at Old Works Golf Course. The wind was blowing very hard. After lunch we went to the Club Moderne. This is a beautiful bar built in 1937. In 2016 it was chosen America's Favorite Historic Bar by the National Trust for Historic Preservation. Also in 2016 it was virtually destroyed by fire. It was rebuilt to its previous design and reopened in 6 1/2 months. The owner, Johnny Hekkel told us all about the process.

Today is Friday. We went to Deer Lodge to visit the historic state penitentiary. This is a self guided exhibit that shows the facility as it was and in some places there are mannequins and props showing prison functions. It was interesting and a little eerie. At the end of the tour we visited their classic car museum. This was amazing. There are over 160 cars on display ranging to some of the first vehicles through muscle cars of the 80's. After this visit we went to the Hof Brau Restaurant in Anaconda and returned to the RV park. It was too windy to sit out. Later in the evening it began to rain real hard. It was good to have our rig for its shelter and furnace.
On Saturday it was sunny but cold in the morning. Later in the day it warmed up to the mid 60's. It was a beautiful day. We cruised around Anaconda for a bit but mostly stayed in the park.

On Sunday we drove to the old mining town of Phillipsburg. The town has been kept somewhat as it was in the days of sapphire and quartz mining. We walked the main street checking out some of the businesses.

After our visit we went back to Anaconda and checked out some of the businesses. Back at the park we sat out and enjoyed the pleasant day.

     Sept 17, 2018
This morning we got up and hit the road toward Post Falls, ID for our last night on the road for the year. We stayed in the park and got up in the morning for the drive home. Thanks to all of our followers.

Reno/ Sparks, Yreka and home

August 3, 2018
We drove the almost 400 miles from Caldwell, ID to Sparks, NV via Hwys 95 and 80 through Winnemucca. It wasn't a bad drive because it was new to us. We stayed at the Sparks Marina RV Park. This is a very nice park with paved sites and everything we need for our four day stay. We got set up and settled in for a nice warm, but smokey day. We had neighbors across from us who had to evacuate their property in Redding because of the fires. Pete and Patty are really nice people who had to bring their three dogs with them. One is Romeo, a husky malamute mix who they are taking care of for their daughter. He's a nice dog but is a little wild,
We learned that next weekend is Hot August Nights so we will miss one of the the craziest weekends in Reno.
Today is Saturday. We needed some groceries so we found a supermarket and restocked the pantry. After shopping we took a walk around the park. A few hot rods are already in town for the the show next weekend. After our walk I more neighbors in the park. They are Terry Fiest and his wife Bobbie. They are a little older than us and live in Orlando, FL. They grew up in Anaconda, MT so we have some things in common.
On Sunday we decided to go to Reno . We haven't been here for over 20 years so we are intrigued to see what Reno is like. We walked the main street of Reno going through casinos as we went along. We did a little gambling during the process. After the visit we decided we don't need to return to Reno. We stopped at a sports bar for a late lunch on the way back to the park. After dinner Terry and Bobbie invited us for cocktails. Terry is very involved in classic wooded boats. When they leave here they are going to Lake Tahoe for a classic boat show. After that they are going to Anaconda for a funeral for a friend they went to school with.
After breakfast today we went to Virginia City. We noticed more hot rods and Classic cars driving around. In Virginia City we parked the truck and walked the town. There are the usual trinket shops and stores along with the the old businesses and public buildings. The old Delta Saloon was nice. They have re purposed some of the rooms upstairs for special events and rentals.
Delta Saloon

We stopped at the Bucket O Blood Saloon for a drink and gather more historic knowledge. On the way back to the park we stopped for lunch. Behind the restaurant there was a car show with over 100 vehicles showing. Back at the park we sat out visiting with other campers and enjoying the many more cars coming into town for the show.

August 6, 2018
We left Sparks this morning heading to Yreka, a 255 mile drive, on Hwy 395 to Susanville, then on Hwy 44  and 89 to I5 at Lake Shasta. In Yreka we stay at the Waiiaka RV Park. It's a nice little park where we usually we stay on our way north. After getting set up we went to the new casino near town. We won a few dollars so we cashed in and went into town for dinner. We found the Etna Brewery and Tap House. We had a great dinner and will return on our trip. Back at the park we had a great sunset, of course with smoke, above a nice VW Van in our park.
Tomorrow we drive to Woodburn, OR for our last night on the road, then home on Thursday.

Caldwell, ID

July 28, 2018
We left Packwood by 9:30 as planned heading for Pendleton, OR. We arrived in the early afternoon at the Wildhorse Casino and RV Park and got set up by 2. It was hot and smokey from fires in Canada. At about 3 we went to the casino for some light gambling and an early dinner. We sat out in the park until about 9. I heard some loud music that I thought was from in the park. After wandering around a bit I found that it was Latino music night at the outdoor venue near the casino. It was supposed to last until 11. At about 11:30 I still heard the music, I turned out to be some of the concert goers in the park still partying. By midnight security shut them down.
We were up and out of the park before 9 for the 230 mile drive. We got to Caldwell, ID and the Ambassador RV Park. It was very warm and smokey here. We have stayed here several times. It's a very nice park with all the amenities. Gail's very good friend Sherral Sherry and her husband Tony live in nearby Nampa. Gail called Sherral and we were invited to her new house for dinner. Sherral 's daughter and family were leaving Monday on a camping trip and wanted to see us. Both families have moved into new homes. We had a very nice dinner and were shown both homes. We were back at the park by 9PM.
Monday in Caldwell. We had breakfast and called Sherral at about noon. She was running errands so we decided to meet her for lunch at about 1. We had a very nice lunch and went to her house. Since they have just moved into a new home she had some furniture that needed to be assembled. I grabbed my tools and went to work putting together a pneumatic adjustable table. We barbecued some chicken for dinner and spent the evening visiting. Back at the park it was still pretty hot and smokey. This made for some nice sunsets.
On Tuesday I had an appointment to get the truck serviced in the afternoon. Sherral came over for lunch and then she and Gail went for a drive while I took the truck in. The dealership found our front brakes needed to be replaced so I got it done. I met the ladies at Sherral's home for dinner. We went back to the park at about 8 so I went for a swim.
Today we had a leisurely start before calling Sherral asking if she had plans for the day. She asked us over to her house for lunch. AND, she had a desk that needed to be assembled. We had lunch and I went to work. Later we went out for Pizza dinner. We were back to the park by 7 so I took another swim.
This is our last day in Caldwell. We went over to Sherral's home for a while in the afternoon and then back to the park to get ready for our drive to Reno in the morning

Cascade Peaks 2018

July 21, 2018
We left the house this morning for Cascade Peaks near Packwood. We met Hart and Amy Hughes and their two kids at Krain Corner Restaurant for breakfast. What a great way to start a vacation. After eating headed over Hwy 410m and Hwy 123 to the RV park. We arrived after noon and began setting up our site and the Hughes' theirs. Shortly afterward Tracy, Erik and Emerson joined us and began their setup with the Hughes'. The weather for our 8 day stay is supposed to be quite warm in the 80's and 90's

It is our tradition to go to the Blue Spruce for dinner so off we went. The kids, three of them, are able to come to Spruce but can't sit in the bar area. We had a fun dinner with much laughter.
After dinner we went back to the park for the evening. The kids wanted to swim but the pool was extremely crowded and needed maintenance so they decided to wait until tomorrow. We stayed at the kids' site and enjoyed their campfire.
Today the young ones went for a swim in the pool after a lot of the campers had left the park. We all took a hike to the Cowlitz River which flows adjacent to the park. It appears there wasn't much flooding this year so there are nice places for us to enjoy the river.
After breakfast on Monday Gail and I went for a walk all around the park. It is about a 2 mile walk. Yesterday when we arrived the place was very busy but today probably two thirds of the campers have left. After lunch most of us went to the river and soaked and floated for a few hours. Later in the evening we joined the kids at their site and sat by the fire and played games.
Tuesday was fishing day. Most of us left the park at 8AM heading for Dog Lake just east of the White Pass summit. It is a nice little lake with lots of things to do.
We only caught one trout in several hours so we headed back to the park for lunch. Our intention was to have a trout feed for dinner and fortunately I had frozen some I caught at Lake Pearrygin so there will be plenty for all. Late in the afternoon we went to the kids' site to prep for dinner,. Emerson, 13 years old, asked if she could help clean and cook the fish. I showed her how to clean the fresh trout and she proceeded to clean it. She did a great job aside from a minor gag reflex incident.
She was a real trooper helping cook and serve the fish. She likes crispy fried skin. Gail made a pot of Chili-Ghetti and garlic bread for dinner, too. After dinner we went to our site and sat out in the nice warm evening.
Wednesday was another beautiful day. After breakfast Gail and I went into town to do some shopping. After lunch I joined the other campers down at the river to sit in a lawn chair in the river to keep cool. It was a fun way to wile away the afternoon. After a couple hours of that I went back to our site. We sat reading in the shade. At about dinner time we went to the other site and joined in on some rousing games of Corn Hole. A bit later we had dinner with the kids.
Thursday some of us went fishing again. We didn't catch anything so at about noon we all got together for lunch at the Spruce. After lunch we all walked around Packwood checking out a couple of new businesses. Then it was back to the park for the rest of the day. The others came over to our site later in the afternoon for happy hour and appetizers. Thee they left for dinner and we joined them later to sit by the fire and have S'mores.
Friday we had a nice breakfast and went outside to enjoy the morning. The Packwood Rod Run is this weekend and there are a few custom cars in the park. Here is a very nice '29 Model A roadster pick up that was parked across from us. The owners are from Shelton.

Our plans were to stay until Sunday and then drive over 400 miles to Caldwell, ID. We talked about leaving Saturday instead driving to Pendleton, OR to cut driving time in half for Saturday and Sunday. The next time we saw the kids we told them of our plans. They understood completely. We plan on leaving Saturday by 9:30.

Winthrop

July 9- 13, 2018

We arrived at Silverline RV Park for our annual trip. We stopped in town to have lunch. The weather is supposed to be nice, but hot for the week. I went fishing in the evening and caught a couple of nice rainbow trout. We sat out in the evening and met some nice people. Jane and Darrel are from Richmond, BC. They spend almost the entire summer at the park.
After breakfast we went to town to wander the streets and check out some of the shops. We visited Lost River Winery and had lunch at a local Mexican restaurant.
On Wednesday our friends Derrick and Colleen Edwards and their girls arrived from BC. They are a very nice family that we met a few years ago. Their family and I went fishing after dinner and we all caught fish.
We met the Edwards' family for lunch on Thursday at the local cidery. Then back to the park for an afternoon of relaxing before fishing in the evening. A couple of guys had gone fishing near Omak and caught some very nice trout. One weighed over 4 pounds. Here's a pic of a couple of their fish.

The drive to Bellingham over the North Cascade Pass was beautiful and uneventful. We stayed until Monday and drove hole to get ready for our next outing

Chelan and Leavenworth

June 4, 2018
We arrived in Chelan after noon so we went for a Mexican lunch and then to the park to get set up. My sister Terry usually comes over in her motor home but she sold it so will be staying in the motel next to the RV park. We just relaxed around the park for the day. It was sunny but quite windy.

June 5 2018
After breakfast we went to Lake Chelan Winery to pick up some wine and stock up in their gift store. This is always a great stop. After that we went to Benson Estate Wines and MVP Cellars. In the evening we went back to Lake Chelan Winery for dinner. We had a 2 for 1 coupon for their baby back rib meat sandwich dinner. It is a half rack of rib meat on a fresh Po Boy roll, cole slaw and the best baked beans we have ever tasted.

June 6, 2018
Today I went to the driving range in the morning. After lunch we visited a few tasting rooms and had a relaxing afternoon in the park. Our camping neighbors were Buzz and Kathy from White Rock BC. They have a 40 ft. fifth wheel they tow with a Ford F450. Buzz is an admitted clean freak. He spent all the time he could cleaning his truck and RV. We had Terry over for dinner. BBQ burgers and chips. Then sitting by the fire until the wind chased us indoors.

June 7, 2018
After breakfast we went to a few more tasting rooms. One, Chelan Ridge is owned by Henry and Lynn, is one of our favorites. They are selling the winery so they can retire and enjoy the next stage of their lives. We will miss them. Then back to the park for our final night in Chelan.

June 8, 2018
Today we relocated to Wenatchee River County RV Park for three nights. Sue Engel, who used to be our neighbor lives in Wenatchee and has had some health issues so we want to go see her. We got to the park, unhooked and went into Leavenworth for lunch at Icicle Brewing Co. The town was crazy busy but we found parking near the brewery. We had a great lunch and went back to the park to get set up. It was a nice evening but started raining pretty hard at about 10.

June 9, 2018
We went to Sue's home at about 11. Four days ago she had a pace maker inserted and she was not feeling too well. She said she was in some pain and had no energy. Her Great Niece Amanda has been staying with her since the procedure. Her son Dennis and his wife Cathy came by as well. We had a great time for about 2 hours. Sue said she was exhausted so we left. We went to the Igloo Tavern for lunch. We have been there before and they have great fries and very cold beer. Gail had a cup of chili and a side of fries, I had a chili dog. It was massive and had fries too. Then we went back to the park for the rest of the day.

June 10, 2018..
About mid day we decided to visit a couple of wineries. First we went to Icicle Ridge Winery. We have been here before and the wines are pretty good. The tasting room itself is a 5000 sq ft log home the owner built himself. It is a phenomenal building. After the winery got started he decided to make the log home the tasting room and built another home on the property. From there we went to Silvara Wines. This was out first time here and we were impressed. The hosts were great and the wines were as well. Then back to the park for our last night on the trip.

June 11, 2018
We took the 2.5 hour drive home without any issues. We're home until July 9.

Prosser and Central Washington

May 31, 2018

We drove to Wine Country RV park in Prosser for a 4 night stay. After we got set up we went to a couple wine tasting rooms and lunch at Wine O'Clock Bistro. The weather was a little windy but hot. While we were sitting out a new friend, Walt from Renton, came by and asked how our truck performs towing our trailer. Our trailer is about 2000 pounds lighter than the Airstream he tows with a F150 so is considering buying a Super Duty F250. Then we set up our fireplace for the evening.

June 1, 2018
We had an appointment at 14 Hands for a private wine tasting in their barrel room. We had a good time for about an hour learning more about wine making and wines. Then we went to lunch at Jeremy's Roadhouse, a regular stop. Everything we have had there is good. Then it was off to a few more wineries and tastings. We had a relaxing evening at the park. Walt and his wife Victoria3333 came by as they were walking their dog, Lucca. He is a golden doodle, labradoodle mix.
This is Lucca.
We invited them to come over Saturday evening to share a bottle of wine.

June 2, 2018
After breakfast we drove to Walla Walla to check out a winery that makes a great wine Gail had at a dinner in Issaquah. It is called Hence Wines. We followed the map on Google but came upon a different place where we were told Hence does not have a tasting room. We left and found a couple other places we had not visited on past trips. We had lunch in Walla Walla at The Brik. This is a nice place with good food and service. Back at the park Walt, Victoria and Lucca came over for a visit and some wine. They have been to the park before and this time they came for Scottish Fest. Unfortunately the Festival was rescheduled for two weeks from now. A bag piper and his escorts came through the park advertising the event. Victoria told a lady they came over for it but the info on the website was wrong. A little later the bag piper and others came to our site and serenaded us for about 5 minutes.

When they were leaving they gave us beer glasses and other memorabilia.
After Walt and Victoria left we had dinner and enjoyed the rest of the evening.

June 3, 2018
We had a nice breakfast and went to a couple more wineries and gift shops before settling in for our last night in Prosser. The weather was great every day. Tomorrow we are off to Chelan.

All Asses Weekend

May 18-21
We drove to Bellingham RV Park for our annual gathering to celebrate Gail's Mom's life. We got set up and went to lunch at Extremes Sports Bar. They feature a Dungeness crab chowder that is fantastic. They also do a great job on chicken wings and potato skins. Then we went to Gail's sister, Joannie's house. We brought in Papa Murphy's Pizza for dinner with other relatives. It was a nice evening.

Next morning we had breakfast and went back to Joanies. Later they were talking about lunch so we all went back to Extremes Sports Bar. I shared a corned beef sandwich that was great. Everybody loved what they ordered. Then back to Joannie's where a nephew's fiance prepared a traditional Mexican feast. It was terrific combined with Margaritas and Mexican beer. We went back to the park at about 10.

On Sunday after breakfast we met others at the local bowling alley for the All Asses Bowling Tournament. Tracy won the trophy with the high game.
Then most of the people that drove up from Seattle and South headed home. Gail, Joannie and I went to the waterfront and had a nice dinner later in the evening. Then it was back to the park for our last night in town.

We headed home mid morning for the 2 hour drive. It was a very nice weekend.

Arizona and Cailfornia

Feb 18, 2018
We left Kent at about 10 AM in the snow. We arrived in Canyonville, OR in the late afternoon and it was snowing and about 28 degrees. After we got set up we called for the casino shuttle to take us to Seven Feathers Casino for some light gambling and dinner

Feb 19
Up in the  morning heading for Flag City RV Park in Lodi, CA. We got gas in Canyonville, OR for $2.59 gal. Just south of Redding I had to fuel up and we paid $3.69 gal. OUCH! The park in Flag City is nice so we might use this stop again. It was only about 56 with a low of 38.

Feb 20
On the road again to Santa Clarita, CA and Valencia Travel Village. This place is okay but nothing great about it. We went to In N Out Burger for dinner. When we got back to the park we had neighbors from Vashon Island. It turns out they lived on the same street as Don Frohning, my long time boss at KCDA. Small world. The weather was still cool during the day and in the low 40's at night.

Feb 21
We stayed at Arizona Oasis RV Park on the Ca-AZ border. This park is by no means an oasis. It is all dirt and gravel. We had dinner at the local bar and eatery. The beer was cold and cheap and the pizza was terrific.

Feb 22-Mar 1
We arrive at Sunflower RV Resort in Surprise, AZ at about noon after stopping to wash the truck and trailer. This is a huge, over 1100 sites, park with lots of things going on. They have pickle ball, shuffleboard, tennis, bocci ball, three pools, a golf practice area and much more. After we got set up we went to the Tiki Lodge for happy hour. They have entertainment and dancing daily. Then back to our site for dinner.
Our friends, Greg and Donna were in San Diego for a Gonzaga basketball game returning the 23rd. They called us that afternoon to make plans to meet for dinner at Wild Horse West Burgers, one of the best ever.
On the 24th we invited our nephew Lance and his family to the park for lunch. We had burgers, hot dogs, pasta salad, watermelon, grilled asparagus and corn on the cob. Lets not forget the cheesecake for desert. It was great to see them.
We had Greg and Donna to the park on Sunday. We walked around the park showing all that was there ending up at the Tiki Lounge for a few drinks.
On Monday I played golf with Greg and then we went to their home for dinner. This was the warmest day, 71, we had so far.
Tuesday Greg and Donna picked us up for a drive to Wickenburg. This is a quaint western themed town about 30 minutes from our park. We walked the town checking out shops and other attractions. we had lunch at the Mecca. A nice place that had maybe the best street tacos, $1.25 each, I've ever had. Then it was back to the park. We walked to the Tiki Lounge for a drink and after about 30 minutes clouds blew in and the wind kicked up. We adjourned to the trailer and Greg and Donna left just as it started to rain. I mean it rained HARD for hours.
Wednesday Greg and I played golf again and we got pizza for dinner at Greg and Donna's

Mar 1- 11
We drove to Palm Springs for an 11 night stay. We had some great times with our friends Teddi and Dave Edwards, Donna Lang, Rob and Sheila Nelson and Sherral and Gary Lane. Gail and I went to school with Teddi, Donna and Sherral. Sherral and Gary had Teddi and Dave and us to dinner at their home in Bermuda Dunes Country Club. It was a great evening of chatter about school days, friendships and a salmon dinner with salad and potatoes. Sherral and Gary haev a summer place on Camano Island and invited us to visit in August.
There are new owners at Catalina Spa and Resort where we stay and they are putting money into improvements and service. I was able to play lots of water volley ball.
We took a tour of Cabot's Pueblo Museum. This is a very interesting tour about how Cabot Yerxa spent 25 years building the pueblo from re-purposed materials and his artifacts and art.
Seven of us went to dinner for my birthday at John Henry's Grill. We had a great time and will go there again. Really good food at reasonable prices. Teddi had us over for dinner to early celebrate our anniversary. She fixed a great pork tenderloin dinner.
The weather in Palm Springs was nice. Most days were in the upper 70's-mid 80's.

Mar 12
We headed for home this morning with stops in Santa Nella, CA, Yreka, CA and Woodburn, OR, We got home on Mar 15.
When we left Yreka we stopped at All Star Liquor for some booze. It was about 9:30 AM and there was only one other car in the parking lot. As we were walking to the store I heard, "I know those people." It was cousin Judy from McKenna. She and Howard had driven to Ashland, OR for a couple day trip but the weather and traffic were awful so they decided to go to the liquor store and head home. What a coincidence!
We got home safely in our 3600 mile trip with no mechanical issues.

Prosser and Chelan

Sept 7-10
We had another great trip to Prosser visiting wineries and their tasting rooms. The weather was nice for the whole trip so I was able to enjoy some pool time,

Sept 11-14
We drove to Chelan on Monday and got set up in our site. My sister Terry arrived in the afternoon. On the 12th we visited our usual wineries and Gail and I had Mexican lunch in the early afternoon. Sept 15
We headed home for the final time this travel season. We had a great year.

Rockaway Beach, Charleston and Bend, OR

July 30, 2017
We drove to Rockaway Beach on Hwy 101. The sun was out for the two days we were there but the wind blew very hard. We went to our RV site, unhooked and went into town for a late lunch.  Then we went back to the park to get set up. The beach was very close so we braved the wind and took a walk. Back at our site we parked the truck to block the wind as best we could and sat out for a bit.

July 31, 2017
After breakfast we drove to Tillamook and had lunch at a Brewery. Then back to the park, and wind, for the rest of the day. Tomorrow we head to Charleston, OR for a 3 night stay.

Aug 1, 2017
We arrived at Oceanside RV Park just after noon and set up the trailer. Our site was next to a path leading to the beach. We went into town for a nice lunch at the High Tide Cafe. Then back to camp for the evening. We walked down to the beach to see the sunset.
Then we went back to our site and enjoyed a fire until about 11.

Aug 2, 2017
We drove to Cape Arago State Park and viewed Shell Island where thousands of sea lions and Elephant seals come to mate and molt. Then we took about a 3 mile hike through the woods and along the ocean. We went back to the park and had lunch. Then we walked to the ocean for low tide. The tidal pools were interesting with anemones and little crabs in them. There was an overhang with various colors of moss and lichen.
Then later we walked down to the beach for another great sunset

Aug 3, 2017
After breakfast we drove to the town of Bannon. There are many nice shops, galleries and restaurants in town. Outside of town there are some very nice golf courses. After walking through the town we returned to Charleston and went to lunch at Millers on the Cove where we had some very good fish and chips. Then back to the park and a nice walk on the beach. Oh yes there was another terrific sunset.
Tomorrow we head to Bend, OR for a night before driving to Boise.

Aug 4, 2017
It was a long drive to Bend made even longer because of a wreck on Hwy 20 where a truck and fifth wheel crashed in the opposite lane. Traffic was being let through one lane at a time. We finally got to Bend and spent the night before heading to Caldwell, ID near Boise.

Caldwell, ID

Aug 5, 2017
We got to Caldwell and Ambassador RV Park early afternoon. This is a very nice park where we have stayed before. It was nearing 100 degrees and smokey in the park. We were here to visit Gail's friend Sheryl and her husband Tony and their family. Tony has ALS and is confined to his bed.

Aug 6, 2017
After breakfast Sheryl came to the park and we went to a few wine tasting rooms before having lunch. Then back to the park where we sat out and talked the afternoon away. It was a good day.

Aug 7, 2017
We went to Sheryl's home for the day. After lunch Sheryl's daughter and her family got home from a camping trip. After they unpacked most of us went in the pool to cool off  in from the hot afternoon. Then we had a nice dinner after which we went back to our RV park for the evening.

Aug 8 and 9
We spent more time with Sheryl, Tony and their family these days at their home. It was nice and relaxing except when I was swimming with their young children. We were back at the park in the early afternoon both days.

Aug 10
We left Caldwell today headed to Prosser for one night before heading home.

Aug 11 We left Prosser by 9:30 so got home about 12:30
