We arrived in Chelan at about 2PM today for another great stay at Lakeshore RV Park right on the lake. We had lunch and took a short walk around the town. Then back to the park to wait for my sister, Terry, to arrive. We hung around the park for the day and evening enjoying the wonderful weather.
May 20, 2014
After breakfast we gathered Terry and went to Lake Chelan Winery to shop, taste and pick up some wine we had on order. Then back to the park for lunch. I went golfing at about 1:30 and the girls walked into town. When I returned we sat out enjoying the scenery and evening. Terry had noticed two owls in a tree at her site. It turns out they are young Great Horned Owls. In the evening we heard them screeching to the adults for food.Quite interesting.
The wind picked up in the after dinner and chased us inside at before 10. The wind blew most of the night.

We went to Benson and Wapato Point wineries today. Terry had an order she needed to pick up at Wapato Point. Then we went to the Lake Chelan Brewery for lunch. The food and beverages were really good. Then back to the park to enjoy the beautiful day. The wind came up again after dinner so we put up a wind barrier and stayed out til about 10.

We decided to not go to more wineries today. Late in the morning Gail and I walked into town and along the River Walk. This is a nice walk of about a mile going on both sides of the Chelan River. We saw two female mallards with their babies. One had 8, the other 10. Soo cute. We stopped in Marcela's Mexican restaurant for "the best Margarita in Chelan" as it said on the way in. It was good. Back to the park after shopping for a few things we need at home. It was another terrific day. Here are a couple of pictures of why we come here twice a year.
May 23, 2014
We woke to clouds and cooler than we have had this week. We are leaving the park to the Memorial Day revelers. There are law enforcement people from several jurisdictions on hand to manage the tourists. We got home at about 12 and are leaving tomorrow for Bellingham to meet up with our girls and their families and other relatives on Gail's side of the family.

A nice drive of about ninety miles to Wine Country RV in Prosser this morning. Gail's sister Joanie and her friend Kathy drove over from Bellingham to join us for some wining (sic). When they arrived we drove to a few wineries for tasting and then back to the park for cocktails and out to dinner. Joanie and Kathy were pretty tired from their drive over so after dinner they went to their motel to rest up for a full day on Saturday. Gail and I sat out by the fire til about 10.
May 17, 2014
The girls came by our site at about 10:30 and it was off to more wineries. It was a beautiful day in the low 80's with a nice breeze. We don't usually travel to the area on weekends so were surprised at how busy the wineries were. At some we walked in and then left because they were so busy. We had a nice lunch at a local brew pub to break up the day. We went to a cool shop that was called a mercantile but was basically a kind of antique/flea market place. Then it was back to the RV park for dinner. We fixed mustard coriander marinated pork tender loins, mashed sweet potatoes and pea salad for dinner. Then our guests went to their motel and we sat by the fire. This is the life.

After breakfast Joanie and Kathy came by to say good bye as they had to go home. We had a wonderful time showing them around Prosser and sharing our experience in wine country. Gail and I went to a neat little gift shop and a few more tasting rooms, did some laundry and just enjoyed our last day in Prosser. It was a blustery day with clouds and even a little rain during the day but turned out to be a pretty nice evening. Tomorrow we are off to Chelan for 4 nights.

May 13, 2014
Hooray! Time to get the travel season started. We left home at about 9AM heading for Walla Walla on a beautiful sunny day. Gail said the other day she loves traveling into the sun and that is what we did. The drive was uneventful with no delays on I-90. We arrived in Walla Walla at about 2, got set up and went to walk around the downtown area. We stopped for a beverage and went back to the Blue Valley RV Park for the evening. Tomorrow it's off to some of the wineries in the area. There are upwards of 130 of them.
May 14, 2014
After breakfast we began our trek to some wine tasting room. we visited a few in the morning, one of which was Skylight Cellars. Our daughters met the owner at an Olympia wine and food fair. Stephanie asked us to
pick up some of her favorite wine. They didn't have any on site so the hostess, Ashley, said she will ship it to us with no shipping cost. Then back to the park for lunch and out for more tasting. At Saviah Winery we met a young lady who's mom lives in Kent. After some conversation we discovered she is a niece of a dear friend of ours who passed away several years ago. It was a warm day and we met some very nice people.
May 15, 2014
Up and out for more wine tasting before noon. We weren't really into it today so it was just one stop at Revelry Cellars. We have visited here before. Then it was a little shopping and a nice lunch at the Brick Bar and Grill. It got up to the high 80's with some clouds so it was quite humid. We mostly just hung around the RV park relaxing and trying to stay cool.
