Chelan and Leavenworth

June 4, 2018
We arrived in Chelan after noon so we went for a Mexican lunch and then to the park to get set up. My sister Terry usually comes over in her motor home but she sold it so will be staying in the motel next to the RV park. We just relaxed around the park for the day. It was sunny but quite windy.

June 5 2018
After breakfast we went to Lake Chelan Winery to pick up some wine and stock up in their gift store. This is always a great stop. After that we went to Benson Estate Wines and MVP Cellars. In the evening we went back to Lake Chelan Winery for dinner. We had a 2 for 1 coupon for their baby back rib meat sandwich dinner. It is a half rack of rib meat on a fresh Po Boy roll, cole slaw and the best baked beans we have ever tasted.

Today I went to the driving range in the morning. After lunch we visited a few tasting rooms and had a relaxing afternoon in the park. Our camping neighbors were Buzz and Kathy from White Rock BC. They have a 40 ft. fifth wheel they tow with a Ford F450. Buzz is an admitted clean freak. He spent all the time he could cleaning his truck and RV. We had Terry over for dinner. BBQ burgers and chips. Then sitting by the fire until the wind chased us indoors.

After breakfast we went to a few more tasting rooms. One, Chelan Ridge is owned by Henry and Lynn, is one of our favorites. They are selling the winery so they can retire and enjoy the next stage of their lives. We will miss them. Then back to the park for our final night in Chelan.

June 8, 2018
Today we relocated to Wenatchee River County RV Park for three nights. Sue Engel, who used to be our neighbor lives in Wenatchee and has had some health issues so we want to go see her. We got to the park, unhooked and went into Leavenworth for lunch at Icicle Brewing Co. The town was crazy busy but we found parking near the brewery. We had a great lunch and went back to the park to get set up. It was a nice evening but started raining pretty hard at about 10.

June 9, 2018
We went to Sue's home at about 11. Four days ago she had a pace maker inserted and she was not feeling too well. She said she was in some pain and had no energy. Her Great Niece Amanda has been staying with her since the procedure. Her son Dennis and his wife Cathy came by as well. We had a great time for about 2 hours. Sue said she was exhausted so we left. We went to the Igloo Tavern for lunch. We have been there before and they have great fries and very cold beer. Gail had a cup of chili and a side of fries, I had a chili dog. It was massive and had fries too. Then we went back to the park for the rest of the day.

June 10, 2018..
About mid day we decided to visit a couple of wineries. First we went to Icicle Ridge Winery. We have been here before and the wines are pretty good. The tasting room itself is a 5000 sq ft log home the owner built himself. It is a phenomenal building. After the winery got started he decided to make the log home the tasting room and built another home on the property. From there we went to Silvara Wines. This was out first time here and we were impressed. The hosts were great and the wines were as well. Then back to the park for our last night on the trip.

June 11, 2018
We took the 2.5 hour drive home without any issues. We're home until July 9.

Prosser and Central Washington

May 31, 2018

We drove to Wine Country RV park in Prosser for a 4 night stay. After we got set up we went to a couple wine tasting rooms and lunch at Wine O'Clock Bistro. The weather was a little windy but hot. While we were sitting out a new friend, Walt from Renton, came by and asked how our truck performs towing our trailer. Our trailer is about 2000 pounds lighter than the Airstream he tows with a F150 so is considering buying a Super Duty F250. Then we set up our fireplace for the evening.

June 1, 2018
We had an appointment at 14 Hands for a private wine tasting in their barrel room. We had a good time for about an hour learning more about wine making and wines. Then we went to lunch at Jeremy's Roadhouse, a regular stop. Everything we have had there is good. Then it was off to a few more wineries and tastings. We had a relaxing evening at the park. Walt and his wife Victoria3333 came by as they were walking their dog, Lucca. He is a golden doodle, labradoodle mix.
This is Lucca.
We invited them to come over Saturday evening to share a bottle of wine.

After breakfast we drove to Walla Walla to check out a winery that makes a great wine Gail had at a dinner in Issaquah. It is called Hence Wines. We followed the map on Google but came upon a different place where we were told Hence does not have a tasting room. We left and found a couple other places we had not visited on past trips. We had lunch in Walla Walla at The Brik. This is a nice place with good food and service. Back at the park Walt, Victoria and Lucca came over for a visit and some wine. They have been to the park before and this time they came for Scottish Fest. Unfortunately the Festival was rescheduled for two weeks from now. A bag piper and his escorts came through the park advertising the event. Victoria told a lady they came over for it but the info on the website was wrong. A little later the bag piper and others came to our site and serenaded us for about 5 minutes.

When they were leaving they gave us beer glasses and other memorabilia.
After Walt and Victoria left we had dinner and enjoyed the rest of the evening.

June 3, 2018
We had a nice breakfast and went to a couple more wineries and gift shops before settling in for our last night in Prosser. The weather was great every day. Tomorrow we are off to Chelan.

All Asses Weekend

May 18-21
We drove to Bellingham RV Park for our annual gathering to celebrate Gail's Mom's life. We got set up and went to lunch at Extremes Sports Bar. They feature a Dungeness crab chowder that is fantastic. They also do a great job on chicken wings and potato skins. Then we went to Gail's sister, Joannie's house. We brought in Papa Murphy's Pizza for dinner with other relatives. It was a nice evening.

Next morning we had breakfast and went back to Joanies. Later they were talking about lunch so we all went back to Extremes Sports Bar. I shared a corned beef sandwich that was great. Everybody loved what they ordered. Then back to Joannie's where a nephew's fiance prepared a traditional Mexican feast. It was terrific combined with Margaritas and Mexican beer. We went back to the park at about 10.

On Sunday after breakfast we met others at the local bowling alley for the All Asses Bowling Tournament. Tracy won the trophy with the high game.
Then most of the people that drove up from Seattle and South headed home. Gail, Joannie and I went to the waterfront and had a nice dinner later in the evening. Then it was back to the park for our last night in town.

We headed home mid morning for the 2 hour drive. It was a very nice weekend.
